About Anna

I am Anna Heister, a ceramics designer based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Studying at the art academy in ‘s Hertogenbosch, I fell in love with clay and slip casting for the first time. 2 years later, I continued my studies at the Design Academy in Eindhoven where I found my second love: Web- and interaction design.

For many years I worked as a designer and developer of websites and apps. Then, at a moment that my life was absolutely packed with work and raising 2 little boys, I remembered what gave me joy when I was younger. I decided to buy a kiln which is a story on its own, living in a very small house near the centre of Utrecht.

From that moment every spare minute I am designing cups, vases, and many type of birds, making molds and casting slip. I rediscovered porcelain, beautiful snow white, incredibly strong but with a strong own will that makes me insane by times, but surprises me most.

So here I am, having a webshop showing the results of years of exploration and refining my designs. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
